My nephew LOVES the movie "The Croods", so I got to help his mom put together the cutest caveman themed party for his 2nd birthday!
I really had so much fun designing and creating his birthday cookies! Finally set up the Kopykake so that I could make my very first hand painted character cookies…I was really unsure how this would all turn out, but I was pleasantly surprised! I think the shading process is the hardest…when you get it right, it adds dimension and "realness", but it's really easy to mess up (case in point: the first character I painted, "Guy", didn't turn out so well due to a heavy hand..and that's why he's not in the picture!). The whole painting process takes a really long time, so I'm glad I only had to do 6 characters (should have been 7, but ran out of time to do Baby Crood).
I really didn't plan on painting the entire set, but I just love not having to mix a lot of different icing colors! So every cookie started out plain white, and I love the way they turned out!
I also painted the sloth character, named Belt, on the cookie topper for the cake. Sloths are some funny looking creatures, but they are really kind of cute!
And here's the entire dessert table, including the "cave" backdrop! I just love seeing everything come together!
Seems like everyone had an awesome time."The Croods" Themed Birthday décor was so enchanting. I would love to download the printables for the same! Actually my son’s birthday is coming so I will be hosting a fun party for him at one of the home studios NYC. This theme seems very fun to me.
